Meet Katherine Mason
Hi! I’m Katherine, an Educational Consultant at EWC College Consulting.
My Story
I have always loved helping students and their families feel empowered and excited about their journey to higher education. I have my incredible parents to thank for instilling in me a deep appreciation for higher learning.
I was born in Charlotte, NC but grew up just outside of Philadelphia, PA. I attended Washington College (Chestertown, MD) where I earned my B.A. in Sociology, studied abroad in London, rowed 4 years for the women’s crew team, and worked part-time as a student aid at the Admissions Office. Shortly after graduation, I returned to the College where I began my first full-time role as an Admissions Counselor.
I moved to D.C. where I took on an admissions role at a private day school, however, my love for higher education enrollment later led me to George Mason University (Fairfax, VA) where I served as their Associate Director of Admissions. Over the next decade, I continued to work in college admissions at various institutions such as The Culinary Institute of America (Hyde Park, NY) and Community Higher Ed (Tulsa, OK), before earning my M.Ed. in Higher Education from Northeastern University (Boston, MA). After moving to Raleigh, NC, I worked for UNC Charlotte as their Regional Admissions Representative for Eastern NC.
My entire profession has allowed me to work with a wide variety of applicants, such as first-year applicants, transfer students, and professionals seeking a new degree necessary for a career change. I’m so grateful to be in this profession!
